18/12 bi/bu : is de 12mm de inwendige maat 'bi' aan de perskant met dichting en de 18 mm de uitwendige maat 'bu'? De beschrijving is niet duidelijk, de foto stelt het anders voor.

De afmeting voor buizen van dit type wordt altijd de buitendiameter weergegeven, tot een diameter van 18 mm is de wanddikte 1 mm, van 22 mm 1,5 mm en van 35 zijn het 2 mm.
Dat betekent een buitendiameter van 12 mm, dan een binnendiameter van 10 mm, enz. Met een persfitting die geen contour heeft aan één kant waaronder de afdichtring verborgen is, moet deze in de houder van de overeenkomstige tegenhanger gestoken worden.
