The excess flow valve is an automatic safety device, which instantly blocks the gas flow in the pipe when a preset value is accidentally exceeded. The principle is similar to a protective switch in an electric system. This is an active tool to protect against tampering or pipe breakage. As soon as the reason for the valve closing has been rectified, the valve opens again automatically. The flow safety device can be installed horizontally or vertically upwards. For horizontal installation, metal or plastic pipes can be used, for vertical installation only metal pipes are permitted.
