Magnesium anode universal Ø 22 mm

Physiologically harmless magnesium is the least noble common metal in the electrochemical series and is therefore ideally suited as a so-called sacrificial anode. The potential difference between magnesium and steel is about 1 volt, which acts as the driving voltage to generate a protective current. In enamelled steel tanks, the current flows from the magnesium anode to the enamel defects (cathodes) of the tank. As the magnesium gradually dissolves due to current flow and self-corrosion, a potential drop occurs at the defect sites—known as cathodic polarisation—which prevents the inner wall of the tank from corroding.

The high-quality magnesium alloy offers optimal protection for the tank.
It has a long service life, as the iron and nickel content are well below the limits specified in EN 12438.
