Application
OEG intermediate tanks are used wherever heating oil has to be supplied to the burner area over long or high distances between the burner and the heating oil tank, especially in CHP units and emergency power generators.
The intermediate tank is suitable for systems that already have an oil feed pump, which is controlled by the pump control of the intermediate tank. Gas/air separations that form can outgas in the operating centre tank of the unit so that the burner can extract bubble-free oil.
The tank should be installed in the immediate vicinity of the burner. Either single- or twin-pump systems can be activated.

Function
Intermediate tanks are installed near the burner, CHP unit or emergency power generator. The heating oil is pumped by an external pump from the heating oil tank into the fuel tank of the intermediate tank, from which the burner then draws the heating oil. The upstream pumps are connected to the pump control unit and are thereby controlled. If the level of the heating oil in the fuel tank drops below a certain level, the control system switches the pumps on. When the level has reached a certain level again, the pumps are switched off. Exceeding or falling below the permissible level range is monitored by means of appropriate safety devices, which switch the pumps off immediately. An additional leakage device in the oil collection tray monitors any oil escaping from the tank and switches the pumps off immediately in the event of a leak.
Either one or two pumps can be connected. In the twin-pump version, only one pump pumps at a time. After a certain operating time or if one pump fails, the control system automatically switches to the other pump.
