Underground cable 5 x 6 mm² NYY-J with protective conductor

The power and control cable is suitable for the power transmission in fixed installations in a safe depth underground, indoors, in the open air, in concrete or in water. The bare copper conductors are round and single-wired. The particularly robust and flame-retardant cable sheath prevents damages caused by chemical influences in the ground and protects against damages caused by weather and small animals and rodents living in the ground. For voltages lower than 1,000 V, underground cables are laid in a depth of 60 cm and in road/street areas in a depth of 80 cm.

The underground cable complies with the regulations of the Building Products Directive No. 305/2011, the Low-voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.

The cables need protection against UV rays and heat when being used or wired in luminaires. Basically, the exposed cores have to be covered by a UV-resistant cable protection conduit acc. to DIN VDE 0298-3:2006-06, otherwise a decomposition of the insulation might occur.
