Spirit levels
The SOLA spirit levels are measuring instruments designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal or vertical. They consist of either one or several calibrated vials.
The spirit levels are made of aluminium as this material is stable and insensitive to weather conditions and temperatures. The tube-shaped vials are mechanically connected with the profile, or even better, glued in. The indication is based on gravity and the air bubble in the vial liquid travels upwards from the marked centre position due to the barrel shape of the vial body. For an improved visibility of the bubble, the frostproof liquid is often coloured. Line marks on both sides of the bubble facilitate readability.
