It has been specially heat-treated and, thus, improves the filter performance by approx. 30 % compared to quartz or glass sand. This filter glass also reduces the consumption of disinfectants. Due to its specific weight of 1.25 g/cm³, a 21 kg sack can replace 25 kg of filter sand.
